Freeman Johnson - Case Study

Freeman Johnson Solicitors have four offices in Darlington, Durham, Spennymoor and Northallerton. I'm sure the following is common; each site contained a different telephone system, Siemens, Goldstar, Toshiba, and Panasonic. This situation meant a different company maintained each system, and the maintenance costs were high as a consequence. As the partners travelled between sites they had to gain knowledge of different telephone systems i.e. how to call forward, how to dial out, some systems had voicemail some did not etc.

iPNorth installed Mitel 3300 CX Voice over IP solutions at each site, and migrated all the telephone lines across to Opal. We then created a four-digit extension and dial plan to mobiles and to each office. Each site enjoyed much reduced call rates, free calls between sites, greatly reduced maintenance and manageability from a central location.

Tryline, training, assessment, part 2, part ii, police examintaions, examintaions,

No matter where a partner is they are familiar with the telephone system, they operate exactly the same way at each location. Each location has voicemail, and voicemails can be forwarded to email. Additionally, external calls to individual extensions can be recorded and sent via email to a users' Inbox. Each location has DDi (Direct Dial Inwards), which allows calls to by-pass the switchboard and go straight to individual extensions. In future a single Non-Geographic telephone number (0800, 0870) can be used to point to a single centralised switchboard from where all calls into FJ can be routed to any location on their telephony network.

"This solution will pay for itself within 18-months, and it has brought Freeman Johnson Solicitors into the 21st Century, this will allow me to manage all four systems from a central location"

Sewell Group - Hull

In August 2005 - Sewell Group (A building company from Hull) contacted iPNorth. The initial requirement was for iPNorth to supply a telephone system for three schools that were to be built under the City of York Council (CYC) PFI project. The three schools were St.Barnabas, St.Oswalds and Hob Moor.

After initial consultations between the school members, CYC and Sewell Group iPNorth won the contract to supply, install and manage all the Voice and Data communication for all three sites.

The total solution for all three schools provided VoIP integration into the existing CYC Core. The project consisted of three Mitel 3300 ICP, nine Cisco 2950-24T data switches, nine Linksys PoE witches and one layer-3 Cisco 3550 Switch. To-date our largest single contract.

Paul Brooke, Sewell Education Director commented;
" We worked closely in partnership with IP North and the City of York Council to ensure we achieved the optimum solution across our three sites. This partnership approach ensured a smooth installation and subsequent smooth operation since the first site went live in November 2005."
